Using Olaplex to Push the Limits of Hair Color

August 24, 2015

Olaplex is a game-changer! This is hands down the BEST product to come into the hairdressing market since flatirons!

Olaplex is an additive that eliminates the bad reaction oxygen has with broken disulfide bonds in chemically treated hair that leads to breakage. What this means is that we are able to push the limits with hair color without compromising the integrity of the hair.

Normally, when someone with damaged hair would want to go lighter most hairdressers wouldn’t even consider it because hair breakage is not worth the risk. Now, dreams of lighter, blonder hair can come true!

Now as much of a miracle product as Olaplex is, it is not magic. If you have black box color on your hair and you want to be platinum blonde, Olaplex will not do this. However, it will save you from the breakage that comes along with the process of making these extreme changes over multiple bleaching services. Meaning that getting to a lighter color is safer than ever before.

How does it work?

  1. First, the Olaplex bond multiplier is added into your color/bleach or can be used as a treatment.
  2. Next, after your hair has processed it will be rinsed and then the Bond Perfector is applied, it is left for 5 or more minutes and then shampooed and conditioned.
  3. Lastly, there is a take home treatment that may be purchased for you to use once a week at home in between visits.

Olaplex has had an altering change in the industry. In just four short months of it becoming available, it was already in over 7,000 salon around the world. The company has not done any paid advertising, the main source of publicity was the popular social media app Instagram.
